Mandriva 2009

Mandriva is a nice little distro for eye candy individuals who like to have things working out of the box. We have been using Mandriva since 2002 back when it use to be called Mandrake. We just installed 2009 on a toshiba laptop and it installed fine but were unable to upgrade from 2008_1 though. The CD upgrade process has never been smooth with Mandriva but urpmi has working quite nicely. There are many flaws we have noticed with numerous packages but nothing too serious. One example is that we heavily use Kompozer and we noticed that the mdk rpm had been broken. We went to the Kompozer site and got their rpm, it worked perfectly. Well, small things here and there, but over all mdk 2009 looks solid. We have the following copies:
